Corporate Biography – Susan Laidlaw
Susan Laidlaw is a senior relationship manager for the Private Donor Group at Fidelity Charitable®, an independent public charity that has helped donors support more than 190,000 nonprofit organizations with nearly $19 billion in grants since inception in 1991. The mission of Fidelity Charitable is to further the American tradition of philanthropy by providing programs that make charitable giving simple and effective. Ms. Laidlaw assumed her current role in 2015 and is responsible for helping ultra-high net worth donors with innovative strategies to maximize their philanthropic goals with their Fidelity Charitable donor-advised fund.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Laidlaw was associate director, Major Gifts at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, where she was responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from Fuqua alumni in California and the Boston area. She was also the development liaison with Fuqua’s Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE), the CASE Impact Investing Initiative (CASEi3), and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI). Before that she was regional vice president at Fidelity Investments’ Tax Exempt Services Company (FITSCO). She was also a vice president of Mortgage Sales at Salomon Brothers and a vice president in Commercial Banking at Bankers Trust Company.
Ms. Laidlaw received a bachelor of arts degree in political economy from Williams College.
