Building from our nearly 20 years of facilitating peer cohorts, we’ve seen the individual and collective value that comes from thoughtfully gathering colleagues with shared identities and practice areas as they navigate change. Moreover, based on one-on-one conversations and survey feedback, we are learning that 21/64 Certified Advisors who identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) are seeking gatherings within 21/64 that cultivate connection, offer consultative guidance and foster shared learning.
Therefore, it is in this spirit that we are hosting three gatherings in 2023 with the goal to provide a supportive environment for BIPOC-identifying 21/64 Certified Advisors to advance their goals in philanthropy and advising and in turn, deepen their capacity to lead in these changing times. In the spirit of all the work we do at 21/64, all of this learning will take place in the company of like-minded peers who are also focused on engaging donors and clients in meaningful ways.
Join us virtually at one or multiple sessions below:
(Previous Session) Session 1: Stepping into the Arena of Facilitation
February 8, 2023 from 12:00p – 1:30pm ET
For our first BIPOC Peer Group session in 2023, we will gather to help you unpack the strengths that empower you and the vulnerabilities that present challenges for you as an effective facilitator. Join us to deepen your self-awareness and explore the different assets you have to engage effectively with donors and clients, and discover the possibilities that you can leverage in guiding groups as a confident agent of change.
Session 2: Exploring Interpersonal Dynamics with Donors
June 7, 2023 from 1:00pm – 2:30pm ET
Conversations with donors about philanthropy, wealth, and family often bring about emotions and complexity. At this session, we will help make the invisible dynamics of a donor family system visible to you as an advisor and facilitator of crucial conversations. We’ll do this by inviting you to examine your own family system as a case study, and facilitating a discussion on how you can apply this concept in your day-to-day interactions. You will leave with helpful theories and proven practices in the family dynamics field to help you navigate conversations with your donors.
Session 3: Braintrust for Philanthropy and Advising
November 15, 2023 from 3:00pm – 4:30pm ET
Are you working on a thought leadership piece (writing, speaking, podcasting, etc.) or pioneering innovative and community-centered initiatives? Perhaps you’re seeking unbiased feedback or out-of-the-box perspectives regarding a new development in your organization or role. 21/64 is convening a Braintrust powered by the collective intelligence of peers where each participant will come ready to share a specific challenge or opportunity related to their work and receive structured consultation from their peers. You will leave with fresh ideas and a broader perspective on the questions and entrepreneurial ideas that you’re bringing to the table to help enhance or launch your body of work.
This is a complimentary offering dedicated to 21/64 Certified Advisors as part of 21/64’s commitment to center the experiences of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in our community and influence the philanthropic and advisory sector be more inclusive and equitable.
