Art of Facilitation

21/64 is offering trainings both in-person and virtually. As we reenter the world, there is a need for both of these trainings. The core content will be similar for both the in-person and virtual trainings, with some additional opportunities for gathering together on training days with the in-person training.

The Art of Facilitation is a master class for individuals who strive to be more effective at leading in-person and virtual group gatherings. During this immersive program, participants are asked to look inward to see how innate strengths and vulnerabilities impact one’s own facilitation practice. Through live-action roleplay, attendees identify behaviors as they occur, practicing facilitation skills, receiving feedback from peers, and honing skills for use in the field. This advanced course builds on the tools and methodologies learned in the Approach training.

Testimonials

“Before attending Art of Facilitation, I did not think of myself as a “facilitator” and I thought I needed to learn some tips and tricks to seem like one at work. The course dramatically shifted my perspective and empowered me to step into this role more fully. Now I continue to think about how I bring myself to this work and how to leverage that to support OCF donors in achieving their goals.”

“The Art of Facilitation training gave me confidence in using what I already know in a different and transformative way. The opportunity to practice and receive detailed, actionable peer feedback was so valuable for learning and growing.”

“After attending Art of Facilitation, I am better equipped to be an agent of change in difficult conversations – and I have a whole new understanding of what that means! I learned that being an effective facilitator isn’t about adopting specific phrases or body language, and there are many ways to bring individuality to this work. What Art of Facilitation does is help you develop greater awareness of how you show up and channel that awareness into what’s effective for you and your clients when faced with challenging conversations and dynamics”

“This week, I participated in 21/64’s Talking About Money Training to challenge one of the oldest taboos – money. The team and facilitators are excellent, creative, and very engaging! Thank you to 21/64 for giving me a framework to look at how my own money story informs/inhibits money conversations with my family and clients, and practice facilitating tools to add value to my conversations around wealth, legacy, and philanthropic planning. It was wonderful and fun to learn alongside a diverse set of peers in the field. We even had an awesome guy from Budapest in our group!”

“I highly recommend this training, even if you are quite experienced in family meeting facilitation and client management. In addition to providing outstanding content, the training works on almost a meta level — not only are you covering the toolkits and techniques for facilitating family meetings in detail, but in addition you are able to observe skilled facilitators demonstrate these techniques in action as they work with the group. You are able to reflect about yourself and about the approach you bring to client work as you use the tools, and you are also able to learn from and share best practices with the highly experienced group of peers who attend the training alongside you. A highly valuable use of time!”
