Jennyfer A. Holmes
Jennyfer A. Holmes is the Senior Scholarship and Development Officer at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. She is responsible for $1.8m in annual scholarship awards, supporting over 600 students and fulfilling the philanthropic intentions of trusting donors. Her contributions earned her a promotion to her current role in 2018, taking on Major Gifts responsibilities as well. In 2019, she earned a Principles of Fundraising Certificate from the Association of Fundraising Professional, Connecticut Chapter. Prior to Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, she was a manager of INROADS New England Region, securing student internships with corporate sponsors. As a proud INROADS alumna, she secured new corporate clients and helped students launch their professional careers. Before INROADS, she worked in underwriting for Chubb Insurance, earning a well-deserved promotion to Assistant Vice President at a relatively young age. An active community volunteer, Jennyfer served as Secretary on the Board of the American School for the Deaf and the Board of Aurora Women and Girls Foundation. She was Grants Committee Chair and Secretary of the Junior League of Hartford, Inc.; she is currently a Sustainer. Jennyfer was recently elected to the Board of the Directors of the Connecticut Women’s Council and Board of Trustees of the Harriett Beecher Stowe Center. She is a member of the Farmington Valley Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and serves as the Recording Secretary, and is a Fellow of the national Scott Hawkins Leadership Institute. Jennyfer is a Diamond Life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Spelman College with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Jennyfer is a charter member and serves as President of the New England alumnae chapter. A lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Milford, Jennyfer chairs the Historical Ministry. She was recently featured in the Milford Mirror and New Haven Register for her work documenting the lives of early Black residents in Milford, especially 6 Black Revolutionary War heroes. She enjoys genealogy, scrapbooking, travel and interior decorating in her spare time. She is a devoted daughter, super sister, awesome aunt and great Godmother.
