Eileen Egan
Eileen Egan is Partner of Melvin Consulting, PLLC. For 20 years, Eileen has partnered with nonprofit executives, boards and donors to empower them and their organizations to reach their full potential through effective use of resources and leadership development. Eileen previously served as a fundraising director at the American Indian College Fund for 11 years to support the nation's tribal colleges and universities with her expertise in major gifts, planned giving, corporate relations, foundation relations, annual giving and prospect research. She also served as a senior program officer and associate director of development at First Nations Development Institute. As a program officer, Eileen focused on many philanthropic initiatives designed to direct more resources to Native communities, including 1) facilitate an alliance of Native program officers across the U.S. to explore the possibilities of harnessing their collective voice; 2) serve as the project director for a national narrative-change initiative; and 3) lead a team to develop an online giving platform to showcase the effective work being initiated by grassroots Native-led nonprofits. Eileen also worked at Harvard University for ten years focusing on student services, recruitment, alumni relations and public programming. Eileen presents on topics such as creating strong vision and mission statements, diversifying fundraising revenue streams, major gifts, "Making the Ask," board governance and strategic planning. Eileen is a member of the Hopi Tribe. Eileen has her Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Emerson College and her Master's degree in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Eileen has received certifications in Balanced Scorecard and Strategic Management from DePaul University.
