Speaking

Our engaging speakers will enhance your next client event, wealth management conference, donor development program or other philanthropic event.

At 21/64, our speaking engagements are designed to spark reflection and real learning. We don’t just deliver information, but focus on engaging audiences in meaningful dialogue and interactive exercises that bring ideas to life.

“It didn’t feel like a lecture—it felt like a conversation that changed how I see my work.” – Training Participant

We speak to inspire reflection, spark conversation, and offer practical tools you can use right away that are grounded in research, lived experience, and leading practices from the field so you feel you’re getting a master class in whatever we are presenting on.

Our aspiration is that you not only learn but leave transformed.

A group of people seated in a conference room raise their hands while facing a presenter at the front, who stands beside a projected screen displaying a slide.

Every gathering has a purpose. You may want to inspire, to connect, or to build new skills. We work with you to clarify those goals and then design a session that is interactive, purposeful, and aligned with your audience. The result is less like a presentation and more like a shared experience that participants will remember and apply.

A 21/64 speaking engagement is especially powerful when:
  • Launching something new. You want to spark fresh thinking and generate momentum around an initiative or program.
  • Gathering a unique audience. You are bringing together people who don’t often share space and want them to build a common experience.
  • Strengthening internal capacity. You want your board, staff, or advisors to deepen their understanding of rising generations, family dynamics, and how to engage client families more effectively.

Speaking Engagements

Our speaking sessions are interactive, engaging, and grounded in our gold-standard tools. Participants reflect on their own experiences, connect with peers, and leave with language and practices they can carry forward. It feels less like being spoken to and more like being invited into a meaningful conversation.

A woman stands and gestures while presenting in a meeting room. Behind her, a screen displays a Peter Drucker quote, and a whiteboard is covered with diagrams, sticky notes, and writing.

One 30-minute intake call with you to determine your needs and clarify the purpose and objectives of our work together.

A woman with curly hair stands by a flip chart, holding a cup and speaking to an audience. Several people in the audience raise cards, and the woman gestures as she addresses them.

One 30-minute preparation call with you and the speaker before the event to finalize the agenda.

A woman in a black outfit stands and smiles while presenting in front of a screen displaying a circular flowchart. A laptop and papers are on the table in front of her in a modern conference room.

Time to prepare on our side.

A 60- or 90-minute engaging session (virtual or in-person).

Speaking Topics Include:

All About Values

Rarely do the decisions we make have the power to change lives the way they do at this unique point in history.  Research has shown that the more our decisions align with our values, the more fulfilling and strategic they can be.  This session will focus on exploring participants’ motivational values for their decision making using 21/64’s uniquely designed tool Motivational Values.

This inspiring session offers practical experience for participants to reflect on the stories they heard growing up, the values they bring to their philanthropy, and their vision for the legacy they want to leave in the world so they can clarify what they want to fund.  Tools may include What Am I Inheriting?, Motivational Values, and Picture Your Legacy.

This program provides an opportunity for participants to navigate the complexity of wealth and explore ways to create meaning and purpose for self and others.  In this interactive session, donors can reflect on the messages around wealth they were raised with, consider what’s working and no longer working for them, and help operationalize making decisions in alignment with their purpose. Tools may include Money Messages and rolePlay.

In this session, we spend time challenging one of the oldest and most entrenched taboos – money. This session provides easily accessible ways to talk about  money with family members, peers, financial and philanthropic advisors, and others with whom participants interact.  Discover your values around money and observe how your own money story informs or inhibits your money conversations with others to contribute to positive change in society.  Tools may include Money Messages.

Wondering how to prepare for what issues might arise when broaching subjects such as multigenerational success, legacy planning, or financial and philanthropic engagement with family members?  This session helps make the invisible dynamics of a family system visible to you as a family member, leader or convener of impact-driven discussions.  Learn key theories and use tools to help more comfortably navigate conversations and decision-making toward impact.  Tools may include What Am I Inheriting? and Family Diagram.

In this informative session, co-authors Sharna Goldseker or Michael Moody will speak though an informed presentation about Gen X and Millennial donors and how they plan to revolutionize giving in ways that will deeply affect us all.  Sharna will bring research as well as stories that bring the research to life including examples of next gen donors’ response to the recent crises in the U.S. Tools may include Motivational Values and Picture Your Legacy.

This program for participants, especially with younger children, shares 21/64’s proprietary compilation of key research and ideas curated from the field to distill and convey essential lessons in raising good humans. Participants have the opportunity to reflect on what they’re doing well and can share with their peers, and leave with new tools they can use to strengthen communication and engagement across generations.  Tools may include Growing Goodness.

In this session we will unpack the challenges of discussing and soliciting legacy gifts from younger donors.  21/64 will share research on what motivates next generation donors and best practices for engaging them in your organizations.  Attendees will gain insights and specific tools to advance their practice. Tools may include Picture Your Legacy.

Testimonials

"Thank you for your fantastic facilitation today! I love spending time on these topics as I always learn something new. Excellent use of time."

"It’s never easy facilitating facilitators. I know for myself, and while facilitation feels natural to me, I have concerns on group dynamics, whether people will respond well to the material, whether folks will get the learning, etc. So if you had any of those kinds of concerns, I want to reassure you and say that I did not experience you leading from those concerns. I felt you all lead from your commitment to the work, to your plan and to providing us with the opportunity to grow, think newly or differently, and affirm what we know. Thank you."

“Our recent session with 21/64 offered donors a powerful opportunity to reflect on their personal values and how those values shape their philanthropic choices. The interactive experience sparked rich conversations and provided meaningful tools to guide giving with greater intention and clarity. At Aspen Community Foundation, we believe philanthropy is most impactful when it’s aligned with what matters most to each individual or family—and this session helped bring that belief to life.”

"Thank you for the invitation to dig deeper. You created opportunities to dig into values, which can feel uncomfortable. You created space for us to do that and made us feel like we’re in a safe space to really share by modelling, sharing personal stories, live troubleshooting, real life facilitation. It’s super awesome to see and get to be a part of learning and action."

"Sharna facilitated a virtual gathering on intergenerational family philanthropy for our donor-advised fundholders. She shared updated findings on how next gen donor engagement, including how they are responding to the crises of 2020 through their giving and she facilitated a Picture Your Legacy exercise. We had five generations and 18 families represented on the Zoom and Sharna’s messages and facilitation engaged them all. Feedback was overwhelmingly and universally positive and the evening was a helpful and grounding pause in the midst of challenging times."
