- Think about topics or questions you would like to bring to the Office Hours & Community Connection discussion after Days 2 and 3.
To “pack”
- Bring three objects that appear red, green, and yellow (one of each color) on the first day. Feel free to be creative in choosing your objects (e.g. a hat, handkerchief, scarf, post-its, sharpies, etc.).
- Have your 21/64 tools within arm’s reach during our sessions. You’ll also need a notepad, writing utensils and a mobile device outside your computer.
- Don’t forget to have nearby your water, coffee, and anything else you’ll need to take care of yourself and be present during the sessions.
Our time together will be interactive, so prepare to be camera ready and have your video on, as we are looking to learn from and alongside you. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions beforehand.
Warmly,
Sam

- Jam Study – Sheena Iyengar
- This brief video by researcher, Sheena Iyengar, gives us a glimpse into the complexity of choice.
Bring three objects that appear red, green and yellow (one of each color) on the first day. Be creative in choosing your objects (e.g., a hat, handkerchief, scarf, post-its, sharpies, etc.).
Think about topics or questions you would like to bring to the Office Hours & Community Connection discussion after Session 1.
Optional:
- Generation Impact: How Next Gen Donors Are Revolutionizing Giving– Sharna Goldseker and Michael Moody

Pre-work Before Day 2
Please plan ahead and schedule time to complete two assignments prior to Day 2. They should take you approximately 30-45 minutes total.
Take 20-30 minutes to complete your What Am I Inheriting Worksheet. Use the worksheet to jot down some notes about 2-3 people or events from your family or life story that have led you to be here. Please think about “inheriting” broadly. It’s not about wealth, but rather who are the people upon whose shoulders you stand? What are some of the key events that have informed your trajectory? Of course, there are no “right” answers, just self-awareness about what you claim from our family story to inform who you are. Please bring your completed worksheet to the training for discussion with a partner.
Take 10-15 minutes to sort your Motivational Values cards and select the 3 values that most motivate your decision making and the 3 that least motivate your decision making.
Think about topics or questions you would like to bring to the Office Hours discussion after Session 2.
Pre-work Before Day 3
The below should take you approximately 15-20 minutes. Please plan ahead and schedule time to complete the pre work prior to Day 3.
Read the article: Action Research: The Anchor of OD Practice
As you read the section of the article on Entry, think about a typical or challenging Entry scenario you have encountered within the system that you work, that you could roleplay for tomorrow.
Think about topics and questions you would like to bring to the Office Hours discussion after Day 3.
Pre-work Before Day 4
Please plan and schedule time to complete the pre work prior to Session 4. The below should take you approximately 10-15 minutes.
- Sort your Picture Your Legacy cards by choosing the images that most speak to the legacy you aspire to leave. Prioritize your top 2-3 cards.
- Bring any questions that are still on your mind so you can raise them in class in anticipation of implementing the approach after the Training.
