Somoh Supharukchinda (she/her) is a Vice President at Third Plateau Social Impact Strategies. In this role, she oversees the firm’s strategy support to philanthropists, nonprofits, and social enterprises, with a focus on philanthropic advising, strategic planning, and program design and management. She also serves as a Senior Advisor to the John Pritzker Family Fund, guiding the foundation’s investments in Mental Health and Healthcare.
Somoh’s passion for social impact stems from an international upbringing in low-income countries and over a decade of experience working with nonprofits, governments, and private actors, primarily in the education sector. She brings to this work skills in synthesizing large volumes of information into strategic recommendations, managing people and projects toward outcomes, and producing clear and compelling communications.
Prior to Third Plateau, Somoh worked as the Lead Director of Growth Strategy & Development Communications for Teach For All, a nonprofit that aims to cultivate the leadership capacity to expand educational opportunity around the world. During her tenure, she managed donor communications strategy and systems, aligning programs and philanthropic interests to generate more than $22M annually. Through policy roles at the New York City Department of Education and the Colorado Department of Education (CDE), Somoh also supported educators in data-driven inquiry and improvement planning. In Colorado, she led the implementation of state accountability legislation across 178 districts and helped the CDE become one of the first nine states waived from No Child Left Behind provisions.
Additionally, Somoh brings a range of program experience. This includes managing teacher placement and matriculation for Teach For America; co-designing a JUMP! Foundation leadership summit for secondary students across Africa; developing curriculum for Empowering Students to Improve the World; and investigating the impact of California’s Paid Family Leave Act on working mothers.
Somoh holds a B.A. in Psychology from Claremont McKenna College and an M.A. in International Education Policy from Harvard University. She lives in Truckee, CA, with her husband, Mike, and identical twin sons, Kyler and Zayden.
