RINA ALVAREZ, CAP® is the Director of Donor and Advisor Engagement at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. Rina is responsible for engaging donors and financial advisors to advance philanthropy across diverse communities and causes in the Gulf Coast of Florida and beyond. She accomplishes this by building strong relationships and providing education about community needs, charitable giving opportunities, and other insights gleaned within the Foundation.
Rina’s career spans the legal and charitable sectors. Before joining the Community Foundation of Sarasota County in early 2022, she served as the Regional Director of Development at National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) and Director of Firmwide Diversity & Inclusion for global law firm Kirkland & Ellis for over eight years. She also served as the Director of Resource Development and Marketing at El Valor, the largest nonprofit serving Latino families in the Midwest.
Rina is also a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®). She earned a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management with dual concentrations in Management Strategy and Marketing. Rina received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from St. Mary’s College in South Bend, IN.
