Rina Alvarez is a philanthropic and donor engagement strategist with over 20 years of experience in developing and integrating large-scale fundraising, marketing and community engagement strategies. Rina has leadership experience and demonstrated results in both corporate and nonprofit environments with a deep commitment to bridging the two sectors and advancing philanthropy across a wide range of communities and causes.
Rina most recently served as Director of Donor & Advisor Engagement at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and the Midwest Regional Director of Development at National Philanthropic Trust (NPT). Rina also served as Director of Diversity and Inclusion for global law firm Kirkland & Ellis. After launching her career as Supervisor of Hispanic Media at the Leo Burnett Company in Chicago, Rina served as the Director of Resource Development and Marketing at El Valor, one of the largest nonprofits serving Latino families in the Midwest.
Rina is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) and a 21/64 Certified Philanthropic Advisor. She earned her MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management with dual concentrations in Management Strategy and Marketing and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from St. Mary’s College in South Bend, IN.
