Mindy Gress, CFRE
President, Okoboji Foundation | 21/64 Certified Advisor
Mindy Gress is a philanthropic leader with more than 18 years of experience helping individuals, families, and communities turn generosity into meaningful, lasting impact. As President of the Okoboji Foundation in Iowa’s Great Lakes region, she works closely with donors, professional advisors, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders to connect charitable aspirations with opportunities that strengthen communities for generations to come.
Throughout her career in community foundation leadership and healthcare philanthropy, Mindy has developed a deep appreciation for the personal stories, experiences, and values that shape how people give. She believes that meaningful philanthropy begins not with a conversation about financial assets, but with curiosity about what matters most to individuals and families.
As a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and 21/64 Certified Advisor, Mindy is passionate about facilitating thoughtful, values-based conversations that help individuals and families explore their purpose, navigate generational perspectives, and articulate the legacy they hope to create. She is particularly interested in helping families move beyond traditional conversations about wealth transfer to explore the transfer of values, stories, and intentions across generations.
Mindy believes that philanthropy is most powerful when people feel genuinely heard, understood, and connected to something greater than themselves. Through her work, she strives to create space for conversations that inspire intentional generosity, strengthen family connections, and help people recognize that their legacy is defined not only by what they leave behind, but by the difference they make along the way.
