Meghan Lowney is a philanthropic and social sector entrepreneur with a track record of organizing diverse people to effect change in complex systems at every level. She currently advises philanthropic, nonprofit and public sector leaders in support of their efforts to achieve social impact, effect educational and racial equity, and strengthen our democracy.
Most recently, Meghan served as Executive Director of a Connecticut family foundation that focuses its philanthropic investments on innovative change efforts that have the high potential for sustainable impact, particularly in the areas of education and the environment. Prior to this, she founded Ripple Effect Consulting, advising philanthropic and social impact leaders to increase their impact. She founded Leadership Development Roundtable (LDR) in 2008, now the flagship program of Five Frogs, Inc, a social impact organization building a powerful movement of diverse, representative leaders with the competencies, mindset, drive and relationships necessary to create lasting, positive change for an equitable Connecticut.
Meghan served for a decade as the Executive Director of Operation Hope of Fairfield, a multi-service nonprofit providing innovative solutions to homelessness, including development of supportive housing, in greater Bridgeport. She earned her BA from Boston College and a Master of Social Work in Community Organizing from the University of Connecticut. She is a 21/64 certified multi-generational advisor to philanthropic families. She is a Connecticut native and resides in Fairfield.
