Lauren Spackman currently serves as a Client Manager, Strategic Philanthropy at the Greater Houston Community Foundation. Lauren has served at the Community Foundation for four years. Prior to assuming her current role in 2022, Lauren served in GHCF’s Foundation Services Department, honing her skills in client stewardship and strategic grantmaking.
With a keen focus on relationship building, Lauren excels at cultivating strong connections with clients, partners, and stakeholders. She manages a diverse portfolio of 12 clients, guiding them in developing effective grantmaking strategies and identifying philanthropic solutions aligned with their goals. Notably, Lauren leads the implementation of a $20 million client grantmaking program for diverse-led small businesses and nonprofit organizations in Houston.
Lauren holds a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Houston – Downtown. Prior to joining GHCF, Lauren gained valuable experience working for commercial litigation and estate/probate law firms. In her current role, Lauren leverages her expertise to advise private foundations, family, and mission-oriented clients on maximizing their impact through strategic grantmaking.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Lauren is deeply passionate about the visual arts, environment, and civic engagement. She believes in the power of art and community to drive social progress, elevate diverse voices, and drive change. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys cooking, practicing yoga, and exploring her love for cinema.
