Andy Ho

Andy Ho is the Director of Development at the National Academy of Sciences (NAS). In this role, Andy is passionate about advancing the role of science and technology in addressing the most pressing challenges facing humanity and the planet. He has nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit and philanthropy, with expertise in fundraising, program design, and strategic planning.

Andy leads the individual major gift fundraising efforts at NAS, building relationships with donors and prospects who share the vision of NAS to provide independent, objective advice to the US government and the public on matters related to science and technology. He also contributes to the development and implementation of the overall fundraising strategy and goals for NAS, working with senior leadership and staff across the organization. Previously, Andy was the Director of Development and Philanthropy at Salzburg Global Seminar, where he raised funds from institutional and individual donors in the US and Asia, and directed the Philanthropy and Social Investment program. He has also held positions at the Council on Foundations, The White House, TCC Group, AAPIP, and The Urban Institute.

Andy holds an MBA and an MPP from Georgetown University, where he was a Waldemar A. Nielsen Philanthropy Fellow. He is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) and a 21/64 Certified Advisor, and has been quoted for his philanthropy expertise in various media outlets. He is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the philanthropic sector, and to supporting the next generation of nonprofit and philanthropy leaders.
