Nhi Chau

Nhi Chau came to the US at the age of ten as the second wave “boat people”from Vietnam. Her immigrant experience has inspired to pursue a career working with underprivileged young people through youth development and education. Nhi currently serves as the Deputy Director of SchoolPartnerships at the East Bay Asian Youth Center (EBAYC). In this role, Nhi plans, manages, and evaluates the implementation of nine SchoolPartnership programs and operations, including summer and after-school learning, attendance promotion, family support services, and parent leadership development. Prior to this role, Nhi also served as the DeputyDirector of Strategic Development with EBAYC and oversaw its fund development and partnered with public and private institutional funders and individual donors.She is the former Executive Director of the Oakland AsianStudents Educational Services (OASES). Nhi holds a bachelor degree inSocial Welfare from UC Berkeley and a Masters of Education from HarvardUniversity. Nhi is actively involved in her community as she has also served as a board member of Family Bridges and a co-founder, Board Member, and teacher/facilitator for the Alameda Community Learning Center. In her spare time, Nhi likes to hike with her family and she is always up for a bowl of good noodle soup
