Chief Investment Officer | Re-Envision Wealth

Keith Beverly, CFA, CFP®, MBA shows us that when you align personal values and professional goals, the results can be transformational. As Chief Investment Officer for Re-Envision Wealth, a Black-owned, independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm, Keith is using his talents and inclination toward finance “to uplift the Black community and narrow the racial wealth gap.” A Washington, DC native, Keith has 15 years of investment management and financial planning experience, and is one of few African American advisors in the U.S. who holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designations. Keith graduated in 2022 from 21/64’sCertified Advisors of Color Program, and we are proud to have him as a member of our Learning Community.

WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF YOUR WORK AND HOW HAS THIS WORK CHANGED YOU? Being the Founder, Managing Partner and Chief Impact Officer of Grid 202 Partners [which rebranded as Re-Envision Wealth in June] and witnessing the impact it has on other advisors of color is the most rewarding aspect of my work. Knowing that I am walking in alignment with my purpose fills me with a deep sense of fulfillment. Grid 202’s vision is to create an equitable society through addressing the racial wealth gap and it is truly inspiring to see talented advisors embracing our firm’s vision. The passion and dedication I witness among my colleagues has reaffirmed the necessity and urgency of realizing this vision. It has made me even more determined to bring our vision to life.

WHAT IS ONE VALUE THAT MOTIVATES YOU AND HOW HAVE YOU BROUGHT THIS INTO YOUR WORK? I am motivated by authenticity. It’s with me every day, from our brand to the clients and team members we attract, to the way we invest capital. I find authenticity especially important when facilitating challenging conversations with my clients. Being genuine and honest allows for an environment that encourages open dialogue and fosters deeper connections. This approach often leads to more fruitful discussions and enables more effective solutions. The 21/64 Approach Training gave me different tools for incorporating my authenticity through encouraging clients to do the same.

TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF THAT MIGHT SURPRISE PEOPLE. I’m an active caddy dad. My golf game is horrible, but my daughters are making strides every day. Caddying for them is a joy for me (even if it’s not a joy for them!).

WHO IS A PERSON THAT HAS HAD A PROFOUND INFLUENCE ON YOU? HOW SO? I’m profoundly inspired by Napoleon Wallace, managing partner and chief investment officer of Southern Reconstruction Fund and FundONE, and co-founder of both Partners in Equity and Activest. His steadfast commitment to using his skillset to uplift and empower the Black community is truly admirable. His perseverance given his health challenges is a powerful reminder of the strength of the human spirit. His story serves as evidence that we all have the capacity to make a positive impact and contribute to a more equitable and inclusive society.

COULD YOU SHARE THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE FOR ASPIRING OR EXISTING ADVISORS? Simplicity is key when communicating with clients. While our expertise may tempt us to provide complex and sophisticated analyses, it’s essential to communicate with clarity. Clients need to grasp the information we convey to make informed decisions. Simplicity not only enhances communication but also strengthens the impact of our work by facilitating client understanding and engagement.
