Facilitator Motivational Values Tool – Tool Talk

Next Tool Talk Date: October 19, 2023, 12:00-1:00pm ET

*Plus 30 minutes of optional Office Hours immediately following

We are bringing back our famous Tool Talks starting this Fall! Tool Talks are workshops that provide insight into 21/64's uniquely developed tools, allow you to experience them firsthand, hear from others who use the tool, and ask questions about the tools and how to facilitate them.

Rarely do the decisions we make have the power to change lives the way they do at this unique point in history. Research has shown that the more our decisions align with our values, the more fulfilling and strategic they can be. Values have been at the core of 21/64 practice over the past two decades and remain an important foundational tool for decision-making for self, with family and communities.

Traditionally, facilitated conversations have been in person, but as we move into a more digital world, being able to have the same quality of conversations and connection really matters. The Facilitator Motivational Values Tool creates a level of flexibility and responsiveness for the discussions you want to lead and a level of connection and introspection for your clients, donors or family members whether they are in the same physical space, a Zoom room, or spread across the globe.

Join us to learn more about the Facilitator Motivational Values Tool and bring awareness to your values, consider how a values based conversation can help decision-makers across the generations to allocate resources, create a philanthropic mission statement, or establish financial plans that are grounded in shared values.

21/64 Senior Consultant Diane Higginbotham will lead the Tool Talk in learning and experiencing the tool. If you haven't seen the tool yet or if you want to learn more, this workshop is a must!

Testimonials.

This week, I participated in 21/64’s Talking About Money Training to challenge one of the oldest taboos – money. The team and facilitators are excellent, creative, and very engaging! Thank you to 21/64 for giving me a framework to look at how my own money story informs/inhibits money conversations with my family and clients, and practice facilitating tools to add value to my conversations around wealth, legacy, and philanthropic planning. It was wonderful and fun to learn alongside a diverse set of peers in the field. We even had an awesome guy from Budapest in our group!

This training exceeded my expectations and really took my learning from the 101 Training deeper and resonated with where I am professionally.

Other than grad school, it was the best professional development program I’ve ever been a part of.  It taught me a new way of approaching my work and interacting with donor families.

I highly recommend this training, even if you are quite experienced in family meeting facilitation and client management. In addition to providing outstanding content, the training works on almost a meta level — not only are you covering the toolkits and techniques for facilitating family meetings in detail, but in addition you are able to observe skilled facilitators demonstrate these techniques in action as they work with the group. You are able to reflect about yourself and about the approach you bring to client work as you use the tools, and you are also able to learn from and share best practices with the highly experienced group of peers who attend the training alongside you. A highly valuable use of time!

The training was such a life-changing and surprising gift. I am really excited about this idea of bringing my own experiences to bear on a consultancy that would combine philanthropy, family dynamics and youth development.

The size of the group created a safe space to have candid discussions and practice skills in a non-threatening environment. It was a content-rich experience with tangible takeaways.
