Courtney Smith
With fifteen years of experience across a wide range of institutions, Courtney Smith brings a unique combination of legal, strategic, and philanthropic perspectives to the nonprofit public health organizations with whom she works. Graduating from Yale Law School in 2001, Courtney Smith began her career as a strategy and operations consultant at McKinsey & Co. and Katzenbach Partners, advising nonprofit and media companies. She served as an in-house consultant for Advance Publications, the largest privately held media company, which owns twenty-five daily newspapers and numerous magazines, including all Conde Nast publications. After the birth of her three children, Courtney transitioned to the field of public health, and she is currently pursuing a masters in public health at NYU while working at the Population Health Department of Maimonides Medical Center. Courtney is a longstanding member of the Board of Directors for Planned Parenthood of New York City, having served on that board’s executive committee since 2009 and chaired numerous committees, including CEO search, nominations/board development, and philanthropy. Courtney has been a member of the City and Country School Board of Trustees since 2017 and serves on numerous committees there as well.
