Pre-requisite: The 21/64 Approach
This training will be hosted at the office of Brown Advisory in downtown Baltimore.
Wondering how to prepare yourself for what issues might arise when broaching the subjects such as multigenerational success, legacy planning, or philanthropic engagement? Already experiencing client situations that have emotional content and feel complex? These two days of training will help make the invisible dynamics of a system visible to you as an advisor and facilitator of important discussions, online and in-person.
Day One will focus on Managing Family Dynamics. You will learn to look at client situations using a family systems approach which illuminates how everyone is intrinsically and powerfully connected to our families of origin. We’ll look at the hidden dynamics embedded within each family or group system, and learn ways to shift these dynamics on behalf of the group. We’ve curated key theories in the field and will train you on tools to help you comfortably navigate conversations and decision-making with your donors and clients. You will experience this work personally by examining your own family system and move to facilitating tools you can use with others.
On Day Two, we delve into the topic of money, providing easily accessible ways to talk about money with clients, donors, and fund holders. Observe how your own money story informs or inhibits your money conversations with clients and practice facilitating money tools to add value to client conversations around wealth, legacy, and philanthropy planning. This training will also prepare you to support clients questioning how to have these conversations with their children.
Time to consult with participants in pairs and small groups allows you to address your specific challenges and tap into the wisdom of the group.
