A seasoned philanthropy professional, Sharyn Goodson serves as Director of Philanthropic Strategy for the Leichtag Foundation in Encinitas, CA. In April 2010, Sharyn was hired as the Leichtag Foundation’s first Program Officer. Beginning in 2012, Sharyn also began to manage the Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego’s philanthropy programs and served as the lead contact for major family funds and foundations, helping them to achieve their charitable goals and engage the younger generation. Her most recent role at the Jewish Community Foundation was as its Vice President of Philanthropy. Sharyn also serves on the board of San Diego Grantmakers.
Previously, Sharyn was Director of Grants of Jewish Family Service of San Diego and Program Director of the Aspen Community Foundation in Aspen, CO. Sharyn also held professional positions at Jewish Family and Children’s Service in Pittsburgh. While in Pittsburgh, Sharyn received a top award for professional leadership and a demonstrated commitment to Jewish communal service. Sharyn earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Mills College and her master’s degree in career development from John F. Kennedy University.
In her role as Director of Philanthropic Strategy for Leichtag Foundation, Sharyn leads funder partnerships, develops giving opportunities for community members, oversees a giving circle initiative, manages a grant portfolio, and produces special philanthropic education programs and initiatives.
