Safia is the Business Manager for the UBS Optimus Foundation where she oversees the day-to-day activities and operations in the U.S. The foundation has a global network and focuses on programs with the potential to be transformative, scalable and sustainable in the areas of health, education, protection and the environment. In her role, Safia helps clients to fulfill their philanthropic goals and to be strategic with their giving. Additionally, she manages the Philanthropy Insight Trips offering in the U.S., where clients have a chance to experience a first-hand approach of the impact attained in the local communities where Optimus Foundation is involved.
In her prior role, Safia was a Business Development Associate on the Strategic Client Segments team where she was responsible for the development and implementation of UBS’s strategy to address the unique financial needs of women, business owners, and wealth inheritors.
Safia joined UBS in 2015 as part of the Graduate Talent Program (GTP), where she completed rotations with Client Philanthropy Services, International Sales, and a Financial Advisor Team.
Prior to joining UBS, Safia co-founded Ihsan Charity, a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of refugees worldwide. She loves to volunteer internationally, and has passionately served as the Volunteer & Mission Engagement Chair for the Junior Board of the New York Foundling for the past 3 years.
Safia graduated with honors from the University at Buffalo with a degree in Business Management, concentrating in International Business and Marketing. In addition, Safia is a 21/64 Certified Philanthropy Advisor and holds her Series 7 and 66 licenses.
