Rachel Barchie is an experienced lawyer with a passion for helping people and organizations achieve their goals in service of the greater good. Rachel is a philanthropic consultant with The Generative Group, a Los Angeles-based consulting firm that helps clients design, build and scale philanthropic organizations, programs and initiatives. Rachel is also Executive Director of the Moss Foundation (family foundation of A&M Records co-founder Jerry Moss), where she manages every aspect of grantmaking. Prior to joining the philanthropy sector, Rachel was a litigation and employment attorney at Greenberg Glusker in Los Angeles, where she counseled clients on legal obligations and handled court proceedings. Rachel now applies her problem-solving, critical thinking, and research skills to help donors and foundations connect their interests to nonprofit activities, structure their grantmaking operations, and effectively leverage their resources for impact. Rachel serves on the Emeritus Board of Break the Cycle and the Family Philanthropy Advisory Council of Southern California Grantmakers. Rachel received her B.A. in Spanish and French from Scripps College, and her J.D. from the UCLA School of Law.
