Marilyn is currently the Executive Director of the Leifer Family Fund, the family office of the Leifer family which oversees the investment and philanthropic activities of the family. Marilyn joined LFF two years ago after working in the Boston Jewish community for the past 30 years. She began her career as the Youth Director, Hebrew School teacher and Executive Director of Temple Emunah in Lexington for 13 years. Marilyn then served as the Director of Finance & Operations for Gann Academy, a pluralistic Jewish High School for 8 years. Most recently, before joining LFF, she was the Assistant Executive Director at The David Project, a college based Israel Advocacy organization.
As the Executive Director of the Leifer Family Fund, Marilyn is responsible for the philanthropic activities and financial management of the family as well as the operational and human resource needs of the family office. A portion of Marilyn’s time is also spent working with the second generation to bring them into the family philanthropic activities. Marilyn is an active participant in collaboration with other family foundations to support the various grants of LFF based on the strategic priorities of the Leifer Family.
Marilyn received her BA from Rutgers University in Psychology and Education and her MA from New York University in Counseling Psychology. She currently works and lives in the Boston area. She is the proud mother of two 20 something year old young men who are both recent college graduates.
