Dennis is the Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager of the downtown Denver location of First Western Trust, a Private Bank and Wealth Adviser with tailored services for foundations and non-profits, business owners, and high net worth individuals. In his role, Dennis’ acts as the primary contact for Wealth Planning and Investment Management clients for the institution, helping to create and deliver tailored solutions to achieve their short- and long-term goals. Prior to joining First Western, Dennis founded Distance Wealth Management, an independent financial advisory practice, in 2015 after spending more than 12 years working as a consultant in several areas of the distribution side of the financial services industry.
Originally from southern New Jersey, he holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees from the School of Liberal Arts and the School of Communications at Penn State University, in State College, Pennsylvania. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the Daniel’s College of Business at the University of Denver. Dennis holds several professional certificates, including the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM and Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association of Colorado and the Investments and Wealth Institute.
Outside of work, Dennis, his wife and two sons, live in south Denver and enjoy spending time in the mountain town of Frisco. Dennis is also a wedding officiant, founding Rocky Mountain Custom Ceremonies in 2015. Over the year, you’ll likely find Dennis running, cycling, hiking, skiing and generally taking advantage of all that Colorado has to offer for outdoor activities. Additionally, volunteering has always been important to Dennis; he is President of the Cory-Merrill Neighborhood Association, has also spent time working with the Craig Hospital Foundation, Denver Urban Scholars, Junior Achievement, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Dennis is also actively involved with both the Penn State and DU alumni communities in Denver, mentoring students as part of the LEAD program at DU and serving on the Alumni Advisory Board for the Daniels College of Business. In 2017, Dennis was a member of the Downtown Denver Partnership’s Leadership Program; the project of the class was to help lay the foundation of the 5280 Loop, a project to help better link neighborhoods and connect people in the city of Denver.
