Debbie Tuttle Berkowitz is the Senior Philanthropic Advisor for Next Generation and Family Philanthropy at the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties. In her work at the Federation over the last 6 years she has held a number of different portfolios including work with young adults, donor stewardship, philanthropic education and endowed giving. She designed and executed a three year program called the Young Funders Forum, giving local young adults inheriting philanthropic responsibility a social network, private discussion salon and learning space.
Prior to her work at the Federation, Debbie was the Youth and Family Director at the Osher Marin JCC in San Rafael. Before graduate school, she worked in non-profit fundraising with the Bonner Group in Washington D.C.
A native of the Bay Area, Debbie lives in San Francisco her husband Mike Berkowitz, and their sons Ari and Levi. She has an MAJCS from Hebrew Union College and an MSW from USC. She also holds a BA from UC San Diego.
