I regularly help clients in Missouri and Illinois understand the complexities of estate and wealth planning law, assisting them in documenting their wishes through the creation or amendment of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other important estate planning legal documents. My practice is a full service estate and wealth planning practice, ranging from helping young families with a basic start-up estate plan, assisting with estate and trust administration, to sophisticated planning involving asset protection and estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning. I strive to bring creativity and personable, effective communication to my work with my clients.
Prior to my work at my current firm, I spent over five years working at The Commerce Trust Company, a division of Commerce Bank, on the trustee side of the practice, where I advised the Trust Company on estate, trust, and tax matters and consulted with Commerce Family Office clients on estate planning strategy and family wealth education.
Before Commerce Trust Company, I spent 11 years working for Lewis Rice, a large St. Louis-based law firm with a significant estate planning department, assisting high net worth clients with strategies to ensure that their wealth is passed on to future generations and their philanthropic wishes are carried out.
Outside of my work at the firm, I’m an active member of the Estate Planning Council of St. Louis and a member of the American Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the Illinois State Bar Association.
I hold a law degree from University of Virginia and a bachelors degree from Willian & Mary. In my free time , I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog Rocky, and staying healthy by training weightlifting and powerlifting.
