Sarah started SKR Advisors to work as a philanthropic advisor and development consultant helping high net worth individuals, families and organizations make thoughtful and strategic philanthropic decisions in line with their values. Sarah enjoys helping philanthropists move from reactive philanthropy to proactive thoughtful giving. Her goals are to engage donors as stakeholders who become invested in their philanthropy and cultivate relationships that engage and invest them in the substance of the causes they support.
In addition to being a 21/64 certified advisor, Sarah has extensive experience in grants management, family philanthropy, next generation philanthropy, philanthropic advising, directed giving, collaborative giving, giving circle management, fundraising, fundraising training, development planning, relationship management and stewardship.
Prior to SKR Advisors, Sarah was a Senior Development Executive in the Manhattan division at UJA-Federation of New York, where she worked for 7 years in various capacities. A highlight of Sarah’s time at UJA-Federation included managing two Venture Philanthropy Funds – the organization’s original prestigious giving circles who allocated close to half a million dollars in grants annually to various programs, organizations and UJA-Federation Agencies.
Sarah is currently the President of the BMH-BJ Preschool Board; a member of JEWISHColorado’s Women’s Board; an active member of the DJDS Development committee; and a member of DJDS PTO where she co-chairs the annual spring fundraiser.
Born and raised in Denver, she holds a BS in Corporate Communications and a Business Minor from The University of Texas at Austin. Sarah and her husband spent 13 years in New York before relocating to Denver in 2016 where they now live with their 4 children. She enjoys skiing and hiking in the Colorado Rockies, and in 2017 climbed Mount Bierstadt, her first of hopefully many 14ers!
