Marshall Ginn is a consultant, nonprofit leader, trainer and volunteer with 35 years experience working with nonprofits, philanthropic organizations & professional associations. He has worked on both sides of the philanthropy “equation” having been a nonprofit staff member and consultant as well as a grant reviewer and advisor to funders. He is acknowledged “philanthropy geek.”
He established Capital Philanthropy to promote thoughtful and equitable philanthropy. For several years he’s provided counsel to an established family foundation based in Northern Virginia. Marshall is a member of the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers for which he also serves as Resource Development Counsel. As a Certified Advisor, Marshall can work with families to help them to explore their philanthropic legacy. He is also able to work with them to develop a grantmaking strategy and understand how best to build relationships with nonprofit partners.
Marshall is a peer reviewer for Spur Local (formerly the Catalogue for Philanthropy of Greater Washington,) a proposal reviewer for the Unfunded List, and a grants panelist for the NJ State Council for the Arts. Marshall is also an oil painter and a member of the Arlington Artists Alliance.
