Laura Duty launched her consulting practice in 2018 to work with funders and the nonprofit community. She brings 20 years experience in the philanthropic world through work within community foundations and private family foundations. Her work with funders is designed to “make grant making more fun.” Through coaching and facilitation, Laura walks alongside funders and foundations to explore their charitable giving outside of the tried and true. She encourages funders to look at their processes, to reimagine their guidelines, and to seek nonprofits that align with their giving but are a new grantee. Laura also facilitates conversations within family foundations with the idea of articulating and preserving values while giving voice to subsequent generations and opening eyes to new ways of giving, collaborating, and partnering with the nonprofit community.
Laura is a member of the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers as well as the Alliance for Nonprofit Management. She chairs the Site Based Decision Making Committee for her local elementary school, William Lipscomb Elementary and is involved in her homeowner’s association. She is also a volunteer tutor for Reading Partners North Texas.
