Laura’s experiences growing up overseas, created a passion for philanthropy and a belief that we each have a significant contribution to make, whether our time, treasure, talent or ties.
Laura has held roles as philanthropic advisor at Excellence in Giving and next generation consultant at World Vision International in London. She served as Chief Relationship Officer at Spur Philanthropy, working with multi-generations to explore legacy and focus, creating roadmaps to impact. She also engaged with foundations through strategic grantmaking and social impact sourcing.
At Beacon, Laura focuses on helping clients realize the contributions they wish to make. Whether, moving through an exploratory process, facilitating family conversations and gatherings, managing the grantmaking of established foundations, or assessing the impact of projects underway; she is motivated to help clients get where they want to go and understand their unique agency in the process.
Laura has partnered with the Nonprofit Institute at Colorado College to mentor and engage students interested in philanthropy, and the QUAD Innovation Partnership, advising college students and recent alumni including the US Air Force Academy as they work to solve rooted problems in their communities. She advocates nationally for better access to mental health support for young adults and currently serves on the Goodwill of Colorado, Touch of Love International and The Philanthropy Advisory boards.
Laura received a Bachelor of Arts from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California and a Master of Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
She and her husband live along Colorado’s beautiful front range and have two adult children.
