Kate Hofheimer Wilson joined the Hampton Roads Community Foundation (HRCF) as Associate Vice President for Development in October 2018. She assists individuals and nonprofit organizations in establishing endowed charitable funds, and manages the Community Leadership Partners, one of HRCF’s giving circles.
Kate previously served as Director of Development at The Chrysler Museum of Art, and as Director of Principal Giving-Virginia for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Her most significant accomplishment CBF was overseeing the $21 million campaign to build the Brock Environmental Center in Virginia Beach, one of the greenest buildings in the world and the first commercial building in the continental U.S. permitted to capture and treat rainfall for use as drinking water.
Kate received her B.A. in Art History from the University of Virginia. A native of Norfolk, Kate is Immediate Past President of the AFP-Hampton Roads chapter, serves on the Norfolk Wetlands Board, serves as an City of Norfolk Election Officer, and volunteers with her alma mater Norfolk Academy. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two (nearly adult) children, running, gardening, reading, and going to farmers’ markets.
