Dr. Sharilyn Hale helps those who give, give well, and supports social purpose organizations to deepen their performance. With a successful career spanning the philanthropic sector, Sharilyn is professional and discrete, working with leading philanthropists, generous families, and charitable organizations across Canada and the Caribbean. She draws on expertise in philanthropic strategy, family systems, organizational development, governance, and research.
In addition to being a certified advisor with 21/64 to support multi-generational family philanthropy, Sharilyn holds the Master Financial Advisor – Philanthropy (MFA-P) designation demonstrating expertise in all aspects of strategic charitable gift planning, is a Trusted Family Advisor with the Institute for Preparing Heirs, and is a member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners.
A Chartered Director (C.Dir) and member of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), she has completed ICDs course on Family Enterprise Governance, and is also a certified governance advisor and trainer with BoardSource, serving nonprofit boards.
Sharilyn hold a doctor of education degree, where her research on family philanthropy governance produced a model that helps families approach their giving in a meaningful way that works. She is currently leading a study to explore HNW philanthropy in the Caribbean.
