With over 20 years of experience working in and for the Jewish community, David Golaner has relied on the core values of amenability, curiosity, and humility to guide his work. As the Director of Gift Planning at JDC, David provides expert counsel to donors who wish to maximize their philanthropic impact for Jews around the globe.
JDC’s supporters rely on David as they think about the legacy and long-term impact of their philanthropy, whether discussing endowment giving, gifts of special assets, or working with multiple family generations to ensure their values-based philanthropy will continue for decades to come.
For almost a decade, David worked in the Baltimore Jewish Community both as an agency Executive Director and as the Centennial Campaign Director at The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore. Prior to that, he worked in the world of K-12 education, ensuring that schools had the diverse resources necessary to sustain and grow these important institutions.
Outside of his professional commitments, David also strongly believes in bolstering the strength of nonprofit organizations and their professional staffs, serving as a board member at two Baltimore-area synagogues, and also serves as the chair of the Professional Development programming committee at Na’aleh: The Hub for Leadership Learning, an agency of The Associated. David travels to JDC’s New York office regularly from his home in Pikesville, Maryland where he lives with his wife and three daughters.
David is inspired every day by the faces and voices of those who JDC helps around the globe, as well as the genuine warmth and dedication of the professional team who selflessly dedicate their lives to this service, regardless of ground conditions.
He also enjoys carrying the mantle of bow tie wearers at JDC – an important reminder of longtime JDC executive, Ralph I. Goldman.
