Catherine Kelliher is a senior donor relations officer who works with donors to develop their personal giving plans. She manages donor engagement activities (walking tours & peer learning sessions) and donor communications. She is a 21/64-certified consultant to multi-generational families on philanthropy and also holds the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) professional designation. Prior to joining The San Francisco Foundation, Catherine was the donor relations senior manager at St. Anthony Foundation in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, where she maintained a robust major donor stewardship program for a portfolio of 200+ donors. She created giving opportunities for donors concerned about poverty and homelessness to make a difference locally.
Catherine spent more than 10 years at Silicon Valley Community Foundation, where her last role was the vice president of business services. She created new business relationships with corporations, private foundations and nonprofits. She ensured excellent customer service was provided to dozens of corporate philanthropy clients, including many Fortune 500 companies. She was the first Cisco Giving Counselor – an SVCF employee based at Cisco Systems, providing charitable giving expertise to Cisco employees worldwide. And prior to that, she was a program manager in HP’s corporate philanthropy group. A Bay Area native, Catherine holds a journalism degree from San Diego State University, and she and her husband live in San Francisco.
